This website began late 2010 and is setting out to explore French campsites and more usually the municipal campsites and to provide an honest opinion from a keen camper (that's me) as to their facilities, their location and general information. More info on who "we" are HERE.

This site is to help anyone who is interested in camping in France to be able to make an informed choice.

As this site is so new, there are only a few camping parks that have been visited in the last 3 years by the website owner. They will show a Camping Review Rating (red tents). Other sites listed, but not visited will not have these red tents. They may have Star ratings - these are the official French star ratings. Some sites are not rated...this does not mean they are bad sites! I have visited an unrated site recently and it was excellent. See here for that one!

In time, I hope that other campers will share their own experiences, please feel free to email me your opinions and photos of any French campsites you have visited.

I am a big fan of French municipal campsites, and I intend to list the contact details of as many as I can over the coming months. Municipal campsite in France tend to be small, well looked after and extremely good value for money. Many of them offer excellent facilities; they are usually dog and child friendly and you rarely need to reserve a pitch. More on municipal camp sites in France HERE
